Holding Space for What is Broken and Whole (A Half-Day Retreat)

$120.00

Please note that registration closes for this retreat on Thursday, July 10th 2025.

On Sunday, July 13, Tzom Tammuz, a day in the Jewish calendar that opens a season of holding space for grief, we’ll be gathering for our first ever half-day retreat in the Bay area. This day marks the beginning of a period known as Bein HaMetzarim—“between the narrow places”—an invitation to slow down and listen more deeply to the places of rupture in ourselves and the world.

Together with facilitators Hagit Cohen and Rabbi Zac Kamenetz, we’ll gather in community to explore Holding Space for What is Broken and Whole. Through grounding meditation, breathwork, sacred chant, and guided reflection, we’ll create a shared space to meet this day with honesty, care, and spiritual presence in community.

We’ll begin with intention-setting and a short teaching on the emotional and spiritual support offered by breathwork and chant, rooted in both contemporary science and ancient Jewish wisdom. From there, Hagit will guide a 90-minute breathwork session—an opportunity to be with whatever arises in body, mind, and heart, followed by chanting and reflection led by R’ Zac. We’ll close in circle, gently grounding ourselves as we prepare to return to daily life.

This gathering is meant to offer a gentle container for those seeking renewal, connection, and honest presence on this significant day.

Note: While some people fast on this day, we will be offering light snacks. Whether you are fasting or not, you are welcome as you are. *If you are planning to fast, please let us know so we can be sure this is right for you.

You don’t need to have any prior knowledge or experience in chant or breathwork to join.
